ARCHIVE NOTES
The back documents a brief, specific chapter of Formula 1: the pairing of Mugen-Honda power with Team Lotus. Team Lotus — the grand prix team founded by Colin Chapman, whose cars carried Jim Clark, Graham Hill, Mario Andretti, Ronnie Peterson and a young Ayrton Senna — ran Mugen-Honda V10 engines in 1994, its final season before the historic team closed at the end of that year. Team Lotus used Mugen-Honda power only in that one season, which dates this jacket to c.1994; Mobil 1 appeared as a team backer in the same period. This is a genuine artifact from the closing chapter of one of motorsport's most significant names — tying together Mugen's V10 program, Honda's factory heritage, and the last days of Team Lotus. The pairing and engine designation are documented from the garment's own embroidery and the 1994 F1 record; provenance beyond that is not claimed.
