ARCHIVE NOTES
Toyota Technical College Tokyo — トヨタ東京自動車大学校, at Hachioji in western Tokyo — is one of Toyota's directly operated technical schools, training automotive technicians on a Toyota-set curriculum with among the highest national-qualification pass rates in Japan and graduates going on to Toyota itself and to Toyota dealers nationwide. Coveralls like this were the students' working uniform, not merchandise: they were never sold at retail and left Japan only as surplus. The wear is the point. This is a documentary object from inside the Toyota training system, and its soiling records the workshop hours that produced a qualified technician. Institution and branding are documented from the garment's own embroidery and print; no individual provenance is claimed.
